8K Cameras Features and How to Work 8K Cameras

8K cameras is a digital camera images and it can be taken images and videos of 8K resolution. 8K resolution has 7680 x 4320 pixels (equivalent to 4320p or 33.2 megapixels). 8K has 4 times more pixels than 4K and 16 times more pixels than 1080p.

How 8K Cameras Works?

Uses 8K Camera, Lens and Sensor Chip to capture digital images.

After that the digital image is stored in the memory card or removable hard drive.

The challenge for camera makers is that they are using at least 33.2 million pixels in the sensor chip, which is small enough to fit inside the camera housing (or make the camera as large as the sensor size). )|

There are both still and video cameras available so that images can be captured in 8K resolution.

8K Still Images vs Video

Images are also taken from 8K Cameras just as they are taken from other Digital Cameras.

Along with sensor, chip and lens assembly, 8K cameras also use the same settings as other cameras – Auto and Manual Focus, Exposure, Aperture and Shutter Speed. Depending on the brand and model, you can also take pictures in resolution less than 8K.

However, 8K still images can be captured with the camera, or many still images can be taken quickly. But extracting Moving Video Images is a bit complicated.

To view 8K video images on the display device or projector screen, the camera must have a fast processor, so that the captured image can be sent to the storage device or live broadcast without interruption. This means that it is necessary for the camera to send images in high speed, which can be a few GBPS (Gigabyte per second) and it depends on whether the images being sent are Compressed or Uncompressed. And also the storage or receiving devices must be compatible with that incoming speed.

8K videos may require a lot of storage. A 40-minute 8K video can take up to 2 TB of storage.

8K Cameras Features

8K Cameras can be used in many different places. Below we will tell about some of them.

1. 8K TV – The trend of large screen TV is going on right now, so 8K resolution video still and video images are suitable for those TVs whose size is 85 inches or more.

2. Cinema Display – 8K Camera can be used to make big movies, due to which the picture quality of the film will be very good.

3. Live Events – 8K Cameras have been used for events such as the Super Bowl, and will also be used in the 2020 Olympics.

4. Medical Imaging – A very good imaging is required in many medical conditions, so with the help of these cameras, everything will be visible in great detail, which will make the work very easy.

5. Space and Astronomy – With the help of 8K imaging capability, more detail will be available in Telescope and Space probe cameras.

6. Digital Signage – Digital billboards, retail displays, and large indoor and outdoor displays look as smooth as images on a TV or projection screen.

Note: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the first movie that has been shot with 8K Camera.

Who Makes 8K Cameras?

Many companies make 8K-capable still image cameras such as Canon and Nikon.

Sharp, Sony, Ikegami, and Red are big companies that make 8K Video Cameras. Red and Sony cameras are mainly used for cinema production and Ikegami and Sharp are mainly used for streaming or TV broadcasts.

Is the 8K Cameras On Sale Now?

8K-capable still cameras are available for those consumers who have between $3000 to $5000 i.e. around 2 lakh 10 thousand to 3 lakh 50 thousand and may take more if you want to add additional lens to the camera. But at present 8K Video Camera has been reserved for Professional Use and it is also very expensive which costs $ 50000 ( 35 lakhs) or more.

Sharp is building an 8K video camera that is expected to cost less than $5000. So we hope that more and more manufacturers start following it.

Difference between 4K Camera and 8K Camera?

What is the difference between 4K and 8K camera, it depends on which device you are watching that video in. If you are watching the video in your phone then you will not see much difference between 4K and 8K.

If you are watching the video on TV or computer, then you will see a lot of details in 8K, especially when you are watching that video from the very front of the screen.

In the case of filmmaking and photography, we get to see a different level with 8K. We can take the example of footage cropping or zooming here.

If you zoom in to Full HD 1080p video, then you can only see blurred shapes. With 4K, all the scenes are very sharp, and the details are also very good in it, especially when you are watching that video in Full HD 1080p device.

Filmmakers usually use 4K cameras as this allows the HD screen to be zoomed up to 4 times without losing resolution.

Then you can guess what type of 8K video can be, because it has 4 times more resolution than 4K. You will see a huge difference in this. Even after cropping too much, you will get to see sharp details.

You will know the difference even if you are removing Still Images from the footage. In 4k still capture we get to see 8.29MP image and in 8k still we get to see 33.17MP image.

Will 8K Camera Replace All 4K Cameras?

Right now most televisions and computer monitors use 4K resolution, and this is enough for most people.

But this does not mean that the popularity of 8K will not increase in the future. 8K resolution has been supported in YouTube and Vimeo.

But for now 8K also has some flaws. This technology is developing slowly, which means that with 8K Camera, we can record up to 30fps in 8K. Most 4K cameras can capture up to 60fps, and some cameras can record up to 120fps in 4K.

Apart from this, if we record in frames per second higher than 8K, then it requires more processing power than 4K. And only a few devices can handle it.
